Alhambra Solitaire is an engaging card game that utilizes two decks, creating a unique challenge for players. The game begins with foundation piles where the Aces (A) in each suit serve as the starting point for building up, and Kings (K) in each suit are set to be built down. Your ultimate objective is to transfer all cards from your tableau and stock piles to these foundation piles, adhering to the game's specific rules.
The foundation piles require strategic planning, as they are constructed with cards of matching suits. Cards that begin with the Ace must be built up in ascending order, while those starting with King are moved down in descending order. Meanwhile, tableau piles are set beneath the foundation and contain a predetermined number of cards. Any remaining cards are placed in the stock pile, which you'll use to draw new cards throughout the game.
In Alhambra Solitaire, each turn involves flipping a card from the stock pile to the waste pile. Players have the opportunity to move cards from the waste pile to the foundation piles if they meet the necessary criteria: the waste card must be from the same suit and one rank higher or lower than the tableau card. The game features a unique twist where Kings can wrap around to Aces, allowing for additional strategic moves. Importantly, once the stock cards are depleted, players can turn their waste cards back into stock, and this can be done twice during gameplay.
As you navigate through the cards, it's essential to think ahead and plan your moves carefully. The more cards you are able to successfully place into the foundation piles, the higher your score will ultimately be. Alhambra Solitaire is not just about luck; it is a game of foresight and strategic card management that promises to keep players engaged from start to finish.
