Sint Nicolaas is an engaging puzzle-platform game that immerses players in the vibrant tradition of Sinterklaas, celebrated in the Netherlands. As players navigate through various levels, their main objective is to gather scattered presents and delicious gingerbread cookies, ensuring each one is delivered to the right chimney before the sun rises. The storyline kicks off with a gripping twist: Sint has been robbed! A group of mischievous thieves has snatched away his festive sack filled with goodies, and as they flee, they carelessly drop their contents along the way. It’s now up to you to help Sint recover the lost cookies and gifts and return them to their appropriate homes.
Each chimney bears a distinctive mark that indicates both the color of the present to be deposited and the number of cookies that need to be dropped off. Sint has the ability to carry multiple gifts at once, but he can only deliver the first present to the chimney. Therefore, it becomes crucial for players to either locate a chimney matching the color of the first present or collect the presents in a specific order to make successful deliveries. Racing against the clock, Sint must ensure that all presents are delivered by dawn. Keep a close eye on the timer displayed at the bottom of the screen, as time management is vital to success!
However, traversing the rooftops isn't without its challenges. Sint must be cautious not to slip off the edges, as the surfaces can sometimes be dangerously slick. Additionally, sharp-edged TV antennas pose a risk, and players will encounter hazardous birds that can swoop in to snatch away the precious gifts or cookies. While Sint can leap on these birds for extra points, he may prefer to leave them unharmed, as the primary goal remains the timely delivery of presents. And don’t forget to gather all the chocolate letters S, I, N, and T scattered throughout the game, as collecting all of them grants an extra life, aiding Sint in his noble quest!
